UltraProg FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

In this section you can find aswers for the most typical questions of new and existing users.

General questions


UltraProg is an Airbag SRS ECU crash data clear tool software, combined with a multi device programmer hardware.

This tool is able to read out the memory content of many commercial EEPROM or micro controller devices, and change the contents of binary files on your PC then write back to the target device.


NO, UltraProg is not a Diagnostic tool. You can't connect the tool directly to the car.

You have to remove the ECU circuit from the vehicle, and work with disassembled circuit of ECU on your bench.


Without basic automotive, electric and electronic components understanding the tool is not useful.

At least the user shall understand what is "ECU", "EEPROM", "microcontroller".

Also manual soldering experience is required, because you have to desolder memory device from ECU, or connect cables to the ECU PCB.


You have to buy basic or full kit of UltraProg.


Basic kit contains the minimum items what you need for start.

  • Computer Interface

  • 12V/1A DC power supply

  • USB A-B cable

But no adapters and cables in the kit, you have to build all yourself based on User's Manual.


Full kit contains all what you need for work.

  • Computer Interface

  • 12V/1A DC power supply

  • USB A-B cable

  • Adapters (DIL8, SO8, TSSOP8)

  • Cables (JTAG, Motorola, 9S12)

You don't have to build anything.


Subscription can buy only by existing UltraProg tool owners.

If you don't have UltraProg tool, please don't buy subscription.

If you want to get future updates of your tool, annually you need to buy software subscription.

First year subscription is including in the basic or full kit price, but 1 year later free updates are stops.

If you want get future updates, recommended to subscribe.


If you don't want to get future updates, you don't have to buy software subscription.

You can use earlier versions forever for free.


Yes, you can subscribe. Old hardware can work well also with new software and firmware.

Please send by email to info@ultraprog.eu your interface ID 16 letters, and serial no 8 letters like "RSxxxxxx"

Also you can add above informations to your Subscription order sheet comment window.


No, you can't buy software individually.

Software is not working without hardware.


No, software is working 100% offline.

You can force new updates checking by software, and internet connection need only while version check is in progress.

Payment


You can pay by paypal or bank transfer.

Webshop uses paypal option only, if you want make bank transfer, please ask for details at info@ultraprog.eu


You can place your order by direct payment to paypal sales@ultraprog.eu or bank account.

In both cases please contact for details.


Payment is preferred in GBP British Pounds.

In webshop, you will pay automatically in GBP.

No need to change any paypal settings, paypal and website solve all.


If you do not have GBP currency added in your paypal account, you can add easily under the Settings

Choose "My money" under the Settings and Select "Currency Management"

Click "Add a currency" and from the list add GBP to your own list.


If you worry to make any changes in your settings, still you can use paypal "Currency calculator" to work out the payment amount on any currency.

Please note, paypal has daily exchange rate.


If you complete your order by direct payment via paypal, you will able to use any currency.

But your invoice will be issued in GBP, after money conversation of paypal.

Invoicing


If you buy a full or basic kit, your invoice will contains "computer interface with accessories".

All items will listed up, like:

  • Computer Interface

  • 12V/1A DC power supply

  • USB A-B cable

  • Adapters

  • Cables

  • Delivery fee(called administration work fee)

But software item is not listed up on the invoice of kit.


NO, invoice VAT content is 0%.

You can't get back any money in your conuntry, but you can use the invoice as expense in EUROPE.


YES, invoice indicates EU VAT reference.

In EUROPE you can use the invoice as expense.


YES, can add any VAT reference or company details item into the invoice.

Please ask it at order time.


Invoice issue in double language, but main language is ENGLISH.

Delivery fee is including in the price in case of basic kit and full kit.

This offer is valid only for Europe, USA and Canada.

Other region's order delivery fee need to confirm in advance. Please ask for quote before you place an order.


Delivery fee of software or software subscription is free.

Software is never delivered, you have to download by yourself via website from members area.

Registration is required to enter into members area.


Default delivery company is DHL for basic kit and full kit.

Accessories delivered by regular post. Please ask if you need accessories quickly. But then extra fee need apply.


In EUROPE you don't have to pay customs clearance.

Other countries need pay some percentage of VAT, and customs work fee to DHL.

When tool is arrived into your contry, DHL will ask you to cooperate in customs work, and pay the cost by you.

Please study your own country rules and VAT before placing an order.

You will get a scanned PDF commercial invoice at delivery time via email, to support your customs work with DHL.


Delivery is usually 2-3 days in EUROPE.

Delivery to USA and Canada aroud 5-7 days. Additional 3-5 days reason is the customs clearance procedure.

Software is never delivered, you have to download your own via website from members area, even buy a kit, or evan a subscription update.

Reason is easier invoicing and customs work.


Delivery is usually 5-10 days in EUROPE.

Delivery to USA and Canada aroud 10-20 days. Additional 3-5 days can imagine for the customs clearance procedure.

Some critical cases without reason and explanation of international posts, delivery may takes 30-40 days.


Your software is downloadable within 2 days.

Every time you will get notification e-mail, about release.


Every time you will get notification e-mail, with tracking number, even DHL, even regular post used.


Please send an e-mail with your cancellation inquiry within 14 days after your order.

If delivery is not completed yet, your order will refunded 100%.

If delivery is done, you have to return the tool on your own cost.

If undamaged tool received back, which not looks disassembled for reverse engineering,

and all accessories in the parcel, your order will refunded 100%.

Also you will get a cancellation invoice.


Please send an e-mail with your cancellation inquiry within 14 days after your order.

If delivery is not completed yet, your order will refunded 100%.

If delivery is done, that is serious question, because software is usable at user side, even refund the price.

In this situation I look for mutual solution, which is convenient for both party.

Warranty


If you return your interface, please send your inquiry about repairing.

Returning cost from you to UltraProg is yours.


Warranty is 12 months from invoice date.

Returning cost from you to UltraProg is yours.

Repairing is free, shipping back from UltraProg to you is also free.

Ship back to you is regular post (slow). If you need fast delivery with DHL, that is not free.

Within 14 days of order date, the Motherboard or any adapter replacement is free.


Usually repairing fee is very low. 10-20GBP.

If not possible to repair your interface, you can get replacement Motherboard on "material price" + return fee.


Yes, you can remove the PCB from metal case, without warranty loss.

For example for Glass fuse replacement, you must open the body.


Yes, some simple cases can do. But please report your activity before start.

It can be good for you also, if get advises for successful repairing work.

GDPR


Yes, because you will get the software by downloading, after entering into the members area of website.


All registered members identity going to check after registration, and approve only real members inquiry.

When your registration inquiry is approved, you wil get an e-mail, about result.


Yes, the registration data, the order data what you provide by you is all stored by website.


Yes, affected 3rd party members are DHL or regular post, paypal or bank, and local TAX office if asking to see invoices.

Also mailchimp.com store your e-mail address for news letter sending purposes.


NO, your personal data not shared to other private member even website user, even not.

Also by entering to website nobody can see other members private data.


Yes, order informations can delete.

If you ask to delete also registration data, you will be not able to login into members area anymore.


Yes, almost all data can delete permanently.

Only the printed invoice shall keep for potential TAX office control.
